Genericon - Friday

Time to make my own Genericon report, I suppose.

I left Ann Arbor at 8:30 AM, arriving in Troy around 6:30 that evening. I called Josh on his cell, and turns out he and the rest of the people that had arrived already were on their way back. We proceeded up the stairs.

Fifteen minutes later, we arrived at the con. First on the agenda was the Guest Reception. People like Jeff Darlington of GPF, Jon Rosenberg of Goats, and of course Josh of Avalon were introduced, as well as a cadre of other webcomic artists which I'll get to at some point. Anyway, it came to the attention of the Guest Coordinator that I was a webcomic artist as well, and she instantly made me a guest (but I ended up getting none of the actual privileges therein, but maybe next year...). It was cool, though - got to introduce myself and plug my comic.
We then went back to the room (after a brief stop at the dealer's room) and started up the monstrous video gaming center. We had two TV's, a Dreamcast, a Gamecube, and two PSX's - one specifically for DDR. Super Smash Bros. Melee was of course played, and Soul Calibur and others. W00t.
That was Friday - Saturday later.
