Sora and I were chatting, and the topic drifted to Geocities, and we mentioned that our first websites were on there.|
And holy crap, my first website is still up. I haven't updated it since 1999. Maybe early 2000. But Geocities apparently never throws anything away, and there it is, in all its half-broken glory. My God.
Sora is currently squeeing over the version of the Geek Code I had posted on my site. Apparently she thinks it's "cute".
Yes, you read that right; my fiancee is squeeing over my Geek Code. I am the luckiest man on the planet.
But good god, my website was ugly.
Having personally spent time around Sora, I feel ok saying this.
You ARE the luckiest man on the planet. And the day you forget that, I'll hurt you.
Love and huggles to you both.
Awwww....! *HUGGLES!* I feel loved. :D
The day I forget that, I'll deserve hurting. :D
Oh man, both my first websites on Angelfire are still up. I'd take them down, but I can't remember my login/password.
The HTML 2.0/3.0 days were very ugly days. I'd point to the crap that I had in college, had I not blown it away before my login id finally expired...
Hahaha, geek code... Back when it was theoretically conceivable to enumerate dimensions of geekiness like that.
The front page of my site starts off "This is my first attempt at a new class of HTML called stylesheets..."
That should say it all, really. Also, I used frames.
LINKS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN
Actually (seriously), that's quite alright. Does anyone ever like the first things they put onto the internet? I sure as hell don't. I feel like this is going to be our generation's version of the Awkward First Kiss Story.
Yeah, I rather deliberately didn't link to the site in my entry. Nobody needs to see that. (Besides, it was red text with light blue hyperlinks on a black background.)
So I'm perfectly fine with "it didn't happen", actually.
...Shit, I wonder if that means my Monty Python fansite is still up.
Curious about the geekcode... post it.
yeah, post it!
sadly, my first sites are dead and gone :( I wonder why geocities opted to keep some and not others. Or maybe I just remembered to delete mine, heh.
My old sites still exist, but only in the internet archives...
I can't find either of mine. :(
I don't know if they took them down, or if I'm doing the URLs wrong.
