Wow, that sucks! I'd be super-pissed too. I hope insurance covers it for you.
My insurance is, all-told, the most awesome company ever; I have no doubts they will get it taken care of for us rather quickly. :)
Doh, I'm sorry!! *hugs* That's annoying.
I'm sorry. That really sucks. I'm slightly inebriated, and therefore cannot express verbally my frustration for you, but I am. Frustrated, I mean. I wish bad karma on those people, b/c it's pretty obvious they have bad taste. Not taking apples to apples? The best word game ever? Bah to them.
Sorry, dude, and sorry to Sora too. That royally sucks. We'll have to have a bitch fest at San Diego.
I'm a wee bit, um, toasty as well. Sora and I decided that getting smashed would be a good reaction to the day. Wheeeha.
Wish I'd seen your fabulous dress, though. *giggle*
Anyway, insurance should cover it. Her insurance is apparently highly nifty.
Yes, indeed -- my insurance is spectacular. You shall see, you shall see. :)
I mean, hey, they're replacing the window for free, too.
Mmm... midori-and-peachtree. Fuzziness ahoy!
There are some things in life to which getting schnockered is the only fair response. Do hope you had a good night! And good luck with everything, both you and Sora. Even knowing insurance is gonna cover it, it's still insane amounts of stress...
Thank you very much. I definitely agree with you -- those people need smiting in a serious way by the Universe as a whole.
Although, mwahha, if you are also a big fan of Apples to Apples, we are **SO** going to have to play that in San Diego. (Please? Pretty please? I love that game! :D)
Oh, we are so going to play Apples to Apples! Totally the best game ever. The Justifications! The Irony! The More Irony! So totally can't wait.
Mwahahaha! Keen. XD It will be both fun and entertaining, long into the night!
And the things you come up with for the results. XD Oh Em Jee. Such beautiful insanity.
Bleh. How annoying, amongst other things.
When my car got broken into back in 2003, they took my CDs, a GPS unit, and about $2 in change. They left an envelope from the wedding (which had been forgotten in the glove compartment) containing $50.
The most annoying part was that insurance wouldn't cover any of it, claiming that the vehicle damage was covered by my car insurance, while the theft was covered by homeowners insurance. Splitting it up in this manner meant that it didn't meet either deductible.
Oh, lord. That's just ... lovely. I'm really sorry they did that to you. :(
I had to split it up between my insurances as well; thankfully, they're both housed by the same company; maybe something can be worked out, there.
/me starts frantically trying to remember her renter's deductible.
Sorry to hear it, man. At least you have that insurance.
Hopefully it wasn't one of those windows with a resistive defroster. Those are quite pricey and frequently difficult to find.
This reminds me of a story from one of my professors about his time living in one of those large cities in the east while going to college. You always had to leave your glove box open there, otherwise the idiots there would break your window just to see what you had in there. Perhaps if the bag was left open they wouldn't have broken the most expensive window in any given car to take the bag because they didn't know what was in it. *sigh* Brain-dead thugs these days...
Ahh, not the rear windshield. Rear driver-side window. So, not too bad...
Usually what we do with stuff like a backpack with a laptop in it is lock it in the trunk so it's not visible from outside the car. But it was late and didn't occur to us to do with the bag of games.
Did you read the mock the stupid about the girl with the dog in the bag that got jacked? Quality thugs.
So I gather that "mock the stupid" is some site or community where the stupid get mocked. Details?
(And no, I didn't read it.)
Yeah, those are typically less than $100. Or at least they were back when I slammed the door to my truck and the window shattered. ;)
I guess they might be over $100 by now, that was in the mid 90's.
Heh, for my car (2000 Corolla), it'll be about $210 + tax. Not even enough to reach my deductible, sigh.
At least I've an appointment to get it that taken care of. :)
