*giggles* I love you, too!! You are such a sweetheart! :D♥
Thank you so much for such a wonderful evening, darling... You're so wonderfully good to me.
::figures it out::
Also, I made dice earrings for Jen for Christmas. a pair of blue d10s. I imagine you got the idea from the same place I did.
Maybe, maybe not. I saw some in an online store, linked to from somewhere (probably BoingBoing), and couldn't buy them because they were out, so I decided to make my own...
That's exactly the place.
/me is quite proud of herself, akshully. :X
(spoiler, highlight to read)
I've translated the plaintext, but I don't quite get the reference. What's betwixt the letters F and Q?
At any rate, it was a really cool idea. Kudos to her!
Keep a record of the cipher key.
That bit took me the longest, too - I used an online java applet that didn't keep track of the cipher key...
I did it by hand... I guess it's possible I made a mistake, but the text worked out in a sensical way.
Heehee, thank you very much!
In response to your spoiler, directions to the solution; highlight to read:
Write out a plaintext alphabet, and, below it, the cryptogram's alphabet. The message itself is in the cryptogram's alphabet, between plaintext letters F and Q. :)
Anyway, I'm glad you liked. :D
That's what I thought, but the only thing I get between F and Q is UMOVWGX?H (or TUMOVWGX?H?A if you include the F and the Q). I can't make sense of that. It's possible I made a mistake somewhere with the translation.
Here's how I translated the poem:
Roses are red,
Violets are blue
Translate this message
For part one of two:
Just look betwixt
The letters F and Q.
Try sorting by cipher letter instead of by plain letter, and maybe it'll work out.
Ah, that did it! I could have sworn I'd already tried it that way, but oh well. Thanks.
Wow. You guys are so geekily cute you made MY V-day better.
Seconded. Way to be adorable. :-)
*blushes* Awww... :D Thank you very much!! I'm glad we could help, too. heehee.
Hee hee. Glad to have helped.
(This comment ended up at top level at first for some reason. Weird.)
Nice to know that CM & I aren't the only ones who do the whole "romantic dice exchange" thing ;-)p
Glad your V-day went well too.
