|A busy week, to be sure

Monday, I went over to my parents' house to do some yardwork. However, the mower wasn't working, so I hung out with my sister (who'd also stopped by the house) and found out that she was working tech for my other sister's school play. I decided to stop by and help on Tuesday for a while.
I got home, and around 2 or 3 AM I realized that my busy day on Tuesday would prevent me from doing a comic for Wednesday. (I need a buffer - that's one of my main priorities this weekend.) So that was a late night for me, but I got the comic done!
Tuesday, I went over to Madeleine's school and built supports for some of their scenery while they rehearsed. Then, I took some plain grey flat pieces and painted stonework patterns on them. I'm quite proud of them... from the back of the theatre on Wednesday, they looked really good, if perhaps a touch cartoonish.
After that, I went over to play euchre at the University Club (the weekly tournaments during the school year have been extended into the summer! Tuesdays at 8 PM at the Union, for all you Ann Arbor people). Afterwards, I went with a few of the other euchre players to someone's apartment for poker. I learned quite a bit that night...
Wednesday, I drove up to my grandmother's house to help out with some housework and a couple computer questions. She took me out for ribs (yay!) and then I drove back to catch the evening performance of Madeleine's play, Much Ado About Nothing. She played Hero, and did so very well - I was quite impressed with her as well as the rest of the cast. (The 8th-grade girl who played Don John did about as good a job as Keanu Reeves did in the movie. So.)
Then, I went out for ice cream with the whole family, and came home and pencilled Friday's comic. More action, coming up!
So today, I'm finishing up tomorrow's comic, finishing up the Checkerboard Nightmare guest comic, and hopefully scripting all of next week. Also, running a few errands. Friday will be mostly a comic-drawing day, and by Saturday I hope to have the following Friday's comic done. But maybe that's a bit optimistic.
As for now, though... Buffer = 0. Sigh. On the other hand, I've been getting out and doing stuff and seeing people. I realized even more how much I miss theatre, and re-resolved to get back into it in Seattle, one way or another. I've actually been social, which is a new thing for me. And really, I'm happy with everything. Except my lack of a buffer. Heh.
