Darth Paradox
Got fairly blown out in our second draw; lost by inches again (but not on the last shot) in the third. So one more loss knocks us out of the tournament. Next game is midnight tonight; if we start and continue to win, we'll be playing at 6 AM, 10:30 AM, 1 PM, and 3:30 PM tomorrow.

Got to bed at about 9:45 AM; woke up around 2:30ish. The next day or so will be interesting.

Eesh, do I ever hate getting on a weird schedule like that. Best of luck to speedy internal clock correction....

Why were your tourney games at such weird times, by the way?

There are 56 teams in the tournament, and only 10 teams can play in each 2-hour time slot. Because ice time is such a valuable commodity, the club's ice is scheduled 24 hours a day for the tournament. And because we lost our early games, our later games got scheduled at weird times (the nice ice times being essentially a privilege you get for winning games).

Wow, what an intriguing sport - and schedule. Good luck with your upcoming games!

Thanks! The sport is an awful lot of fun - it's physics incarnated, which is one of the reasons I like it. :D

So, how did it go?

We won our midnight game, then got blown out again at 6 AM. (On the same sheet, no less - the ice was really crappy to work with, and we had a lot of trouble adjusting.)

I'm still quite happy with how we played, on the whole.

Hey, sorry to comment here, I'm just curious why you deleted your comment about the amazon fiasco from Get Medieval. More information is always good, even if it is scanty, and I honestly hope this does turn out to have been a software problem, because I've always found amazon such a great place to shop.

It occurred to me that even the appearance of speaking publicly on the company's behalf could get me fired - simply put, it's not my job - so I've decided to restrict my comments to friendslocked posts.

I've been posting to an internal mailing list at the company trying to get them to release more information publicly. Amazon's employees are pretty plugged in to Internet communities, and I'm not the only one putting pressure on the company from within to be open with the customers.

Okay. I was worried you'd been harrassed by people who didn't believe you.

That's certainly understandable, given how high tensions have been running on the issue. Thanks for checking!
